Just finished my Christmas shopping - Please don't picture me running around, skating through the malls or braving crowds in cute little downtown boutique areas - please - I do not have enough time to tolerate the chaos of that many people in one little congested area. All my shopping? Online, while eating my lunch - at my desk. I even shipped directly from the online stores to the few BFF's I buy for - gift wrapped of course! Now I realize I am a "case in point" for every Life Coach out there who is looking to improve our work/life balance....but I'm feeling all effective and efficient regardless. Don't worry too much about me - I make time for the important things: my teenage (important distinction) son, massages - um, weekly (note: teenage son), and my lifeline - yoga.
These last couple weeks of December - be flexible and patient. You will interview plenty, but rarely will a hire solidify - there are too many details and not enough time or focus. Keep this in mind if you are interviewing over the next few weeks. Expect less to receive more. Bottom line: Stay alert to new opportunities, when interviewing, continue to present yourself at your best - keep the stress of the season away from an interview process, and take notice of the pace of the holiday...frenetic as it is, it's likely more focused on baby's first Christmas, what to buy the wife, and where the Nintendo Wii is in stock...
