New Hire, Tons Going On, Read On....

Angela was captured by my subliminal messaging, she accepted a new position here at FootBridge Co. I am thrilled to have her on board - great experience, smart as hell, and a sense of humor necessary to be successful in this business. We are looking to hire 2-4 additional recruiters by the end of the year - if you guys know anyone I should be connecting with, let me know. We are based in Andover, and we do work our butts off, so work ethic is huge and a rather large drive to sky rocket your financial independence.

In the last two weeks, my team has brought in over sixty new openings, and every one of them HOT - that's both exciting and OMG. We try to set ourselves up to deliver, no matter the number of openings, you have to be able to fill them - this team is remarkable and we're kicking butt and taking names - definitely review the Blog in it's entirety and let me know what makes you go "ah".

Keep up those referrals, I definitely appreciate it. Shout out to Catherine, Mark, Jill, Chris, Heather, Mike, Bob, Krishna, Rama, Luke, Deni, Jenn, Kristen, Susan, Dom, Brian, Marc, Adam, Eric, Jeff, Tennyson, Remi, Bryan, and there are tons I'm forgetting I'm sure (it's Saturday morning, pre-coffee - what do you want. Grin) - thanks for the referrals - I'll have to throw a "thanks for the referrals" party you guys keep this up. Sincerely though - I appreciate the networking - keep those referrals coming - I love connecting with new people.

Fall Focus

There is quite a bit to be said about long weekends. I’ll try and keep it short. Barbequed everything, again that pool, games, family, friends, beverages. I had a great weekend, hope you did too.

Now that we’re back and facing Fall – here’s a few pointers to keep you from hanging on to that Summer pace and get you focused on a very active Fall:

1. Summer is over – so are time-stallers like – vacations, staring out the window wishing you were everywhere but inside, off site “meetings”, leaving early, coming in late, company “outings”….etc. Summer – especially August – is a time stealer in regards to forward movement in any hiring situation. With the onset of Fall – you’ll see activity picking up and quickly.
2. The difference between August and September is activity. You’ll see a dizzying increase in requests for interviews – both in person and on the phone. Stay organized, know your schedule – fit interviews in where you can and say no where appropriate.
3. Now’s also a great time if you’re not looking. It’s the best time to see what’s out there, who’s interviewing – shifts in company dynamics, etc…Fall is a time for strategy – the big push before the new budget.

4. Do not forget the last few years. 2001-2004-5 saw a serious decline in new jobs. It was a humbling time for everyone, companies and candidates alike. With new opportunities flowing – remember those times – if you get too self assured - you’ll be the first to go when times again get tough. Negotiate fairly – within 5-10% of your last or current job. Do not pit one company against the next – bidding wars are not negotiating, and leave residual “bad feelings” – they may need you now – but your longevity is at risk.
5. Tons of choices – parse though, be professional, and enjoy yourself - good companies, great jobs and a Fall Focused on closing the gaps in their organization. There couldn't be a better time to find your next role.
