I went to the game last night - Red Sox - Bud Roof Deck - Box 111, Row 1, Seat 1. Now, a lesser person might let the whole #1 thing go to her head - and - I am such a lesser person. Yes I am.
It was a great game, highlights? Manny coming on the field after becoming the third Sox player to hit 500 homeruns; The sixth inning - where we took the lead....and the eighth inning - when a man ran out onto the field, sending three Fenway security guards into nosedives trying to catch him...listening to 38,000 people roar with laughter is a very good time.
What makes us risk it all for such small moments? Knowing the crowd will cheer you on? Or that your buddies will bail you out with the collection they took up before you jumped the fence and went for it?
All I know is, I get it. It may be absolutely rah-diculous, but that took gumption and secretly you love him for going for it.
